Quick background, for the person actually getting photographed and not just the person paying for it: I'm an Army veteran, I spent a decade doing military intelligence work, and I'm currently finishing an MFA in Photography at the Academy of Art University. So yes, I have opinions about lighting, and yes, I used to have opinions about things I'm not allowed to talk about at parties.
Here's my actual take on senior portraits: you didn't ask for these, your school did, and most of them end up looking like everyone else's. I'm not interested in that version. I want the photos that look like you on your best, most-yourself day, studio-polished or muddy boots on a hillside, your call. You bring the personality, I bring the lighting and zero "now just relax" energy, because that phrase has never once relaxed anyone.
